Role
Roles are assigned from Banner or manually from the system administrator. The important thing to know about using Role for Targeted Messaging is that once someone is assigned a Role they usually don't lose it. For instance, anyone who takes a class at Edison automatically gets the Student Role. Once the class is over, the Role assignment does not automatically go away. Consequently, chosing the Role Student attribute would send your message to anyone who has ever been a student and is still in the system.
The Role Employee is a good one to use if you want to send a message out to all administrators, faculty, and staff on all campuses.
The NotSFS Role includes everyone in the Edison system who is not in Banner, such as some temporary workers and contract workers.
Most of the Roles are not used. |
