Edison Portal email is accessible by logging in at my.edison.edu and clicking the email icon at the top right of the page.
The Edison Portal email is a web based application which you can use from any computer. On your work or home computer you can also set up access to your Edison email account in an external email application such as Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook. Instructions here.
Email links (such as demo-email@edison.edu for example, and the email links in Banner with the envelope icons) launch the default email application configured on the computer you are working on. As mentioned above, your computer can be configured so these links will work or you can simply right click on the link, click Copy Email Address or Copy Shortcut, go into the web application, and paste the address in the To: field.
An easy way to email members of your class or group is to go in to the class by clicking it on the class in the Student Acadmics tab or Faculty Academics tab and then clicking Email in the top left column. See demo.
