What is CE6?

What is CE6?
Blackboard Campus Edition 6.0 (CE6) is Edison College’s new course management system. Faculty can create and deliver online or blended classes, or offer enhancements to their face-to-face classes.

Some of the new features in CE6 include class rosters, semester date rollovers, improved grade book usage, grading rubrics, adding course outcomes and linking them to course activities and assessments, and much more.

What happened to WebCT?
WebCT 4.0 will be used for the last time during the Summer 2008 term. Faculty will have from mid March 2008 until August 2008 to develop Fall courses. Initial conversion of existing courses will be done for faculty. This will give everyone time to train and learn to use the new system before the full course roll out in August 2008.

Timeline
Beginning in mid-March, there will be face-to-face training sessions at the Charlotte, Collier, and Lee campuses. Please check back at this site for date and time announcements.

There will also be online training available. Instructors will need to complete this training for certification. There will be a link on this page to request a training course.

In May, there will be a three day training workshop on the Lee campus. This will allow instructors to receive additional training in CE6, as well as in the software that is available for content development. One-on-one class-specific consultation time will be available as well.
